The Environment
The care of the environment is
the most important aspect of Transur S.A.
That is why we commit ourselves to better it, take care of it,
and protect it for the future of the economy in which we live
in and work for.
USEFUL INFORMATION:
The residue caused by human activity
is a big factor in the pollution and contamination of the environment.
Forms of residue and their respective definitions:
a) Urban or Domestic Residue
b) Medical Residue (hospitals, dentists, clinics, etc.)
c) Industrial Residue
c1- Concerning urban areas
c2- Inert ones
c3-Toxic o dangerous
d) Radioactive Residue
a)Urban Residue:
They constitute a heterogeneous
type of residue, capable or not of rotting. Their quantity and
quality depends on various factors: climate, position, social,
economic, etc.
Their generation contains various
factors, but for the most part a greater economical development,
and a greater amount of inert materials (cans, glass, and carton,
ect.)
b)Medical Residue:
They are all wasted o materials
a solid, semisolid, liquid, or gaseous state that present toxic
and/or biologically activated characteristics.
These may directly or indirectly affect human beings and cause
the contamination of the ground, water, or atmosphere. They are
generated by the medical attention to patients (diagnostics, treatment,
immunization of services to human beings and animals), as well
as in the investigation and/or commercial production of biological
elements.
c)Industrial
Residue:
Industries are the biggest producers
of solid residue.
The residue directed at the urban
sections (food industry, organic residues) and the inert residue
there does not exist a major problem. The same is not true for
toxic or dangerous waste, such as the ones which are inflammable,
reactive, corrosive, smelly, infectious, ect. Which deserve extreme
care and caution.
They can cause numerable damages to the natural resources, especially
terrestrial and underground water. They are also extremely poisonous
to man.
d)Radioactive
Residue:
They are a major problem for their
radioactivity can last for hundreds to thousands of years, depending
on the material they are made of. The residue comes from mineral
extraction, from the large centers of generation and from the
numerous centers of investigation and application such a clinics
and hospitals.
Constitution-Article
28
The inhabitants
of the province have the right to enjoy a healthy environment
and the duty to conserve and protect for their benefit and for
the benefit of future generations
The province
exerts an eminent control over the environment and the natural
resources of its territory, including underground and air space,
territorial waters, continental platform, and the natural resources
of the exclusive economic zone, with the objective to assure an
adequate environmental status.
As far
as ecological material is concerned, the state must preserve,
recuperate, and conserve the natural resources, renewable or not
in the territory of the Province; control all the environmental
impact of all activities the damage the ecosystem; promote actions
that avoid air contamination, as well as water and soil; prohibit
the incoming of toxic or radioactive wastes into the territory;
and guarantee the right to partake in the defense of the environment,
and of the natural and cultural resources.
In the same manner, the state must assure methods of conservation
and recuperation of the quality of water, air, and land, compatible
to the maintaining of its physical integrity and productive capacity,
and the safekeeping of waters with ecological importance, of flora,
and of fauna.
All person
whose action or denial to act may harm the environment is forced
to take precautions in order to avoid doing so.
